- Christian Grodau has been Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Messe München since August 2023. In this role, he leads the Operations division, which comprises IT and Trade Fair Services, with a total of around 170 employees. His focus is on operational excellence while driving the advancement of IT and service offerings in an increasingly competitive environment through a strong interplay of digitalization, technological innovation, and customer-centric services for all the different event formats Messe München has to offer, being it trade shows, concerts, congresses or other special types of events. Prior to his current position, Christian Grodau served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Messe München GmbH from February 2016. Together with his team, he transformed the IT department into a key driver of business value in the areas of digitalization and technology. His tenure included significant organizational and cultural transformation, as well as the development of a long-term technology roadmap. Before joining Messe München, Christian Grodau held various positions in the telecommunications industry. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich.
