Event Directors Summit

Open to Event/Exhibition/Project/Portfolio Directors only

The Event Directors Summit is an exclusive two-day programme for a maximum of 50 exhibition/portfolio/event directors, which takes place immediately prior to the UFI European Conference.


  • FREE to attend for UFI European Events Week delegates who qualify
  • Innovative programme consists of a mixture of interactive workshops, P2P learning, and experiential networking
  • Gives event/portfolio directors access to a powerful network of international colleagues to explore future partnerships
  • Delegates must be from exhibition organisers only (venue operators & service providers are not eligible)

Please note that you are expected to join both the Event Directors Summit and the European Conference programme.

Tuesday, June 2

1:50 PM - Meet outside Marriott İzmir Hotel - Collect bike and helmet

We will be cycling 2.5km along the sea front to Asansör, the historical landmark, for the afternoon workshop, and back again afterwards. It should take about 10–15 mins each way on flat ground. UFI will provide bikes and helmets for everyone. Please bring your personal items in a small backpack.

⚠️ If anyone is not comfortable cycling, we have a minibus shuttle alternative. Please RSVP and let us know.

2:00 PM - Depart from Marriott by bike
2:20 PM - Arrive at Asansör — drop off bike and go up to restaurant
2:30 PM - Coffee and refreshments
2:45 PM - Workshop starts
4:30 PM - Networking break
6:00 PM - Workshop ends and return by bike to Marriott
6:30 PM - Icebreaker networking reception at Marriott Pagos rooftop bar

Wednesday, June 3

8:00 AM - Meet in Marriott Hotel and walk to Konak Iskele (10-min walk)
8:30 AM - Boat to İzmir Marina
9:00 AM - Arrival at Nefes Restaurant (level 1) — coffee and refreshments
9:30 AM - Workshop starts
11:00 AM - Networking break
12:30 PM - Lunch at Nefes restaurant
2:00 PM - Transfer by bus to Fuar Izmir (20 mins)
